ProWein Düsseldorf 2026 strengthens its position as an international platform for wine and spirits. The edition held from March 15 to 17 recorded 3,400 exhibitors from 63 nations and 31,000 trade visitors from 105 countries.

The German trade fair focuses on an increasingly business-oriented model, with a more efficient exhibition concept and new formats designed to facilitate commercial decisions. Key markets present included Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, and the United States, confirmed as strategic import hubs.

A central role was played by the revised and enhanced Hosted Buyer program and the event’s official app. The Fair Match matchmaking system generated 72,488 qualified contacts between exhibitors and buyers before and during the event.

STRATEGY AND POSITIONING

In a consolidating market context, ProWein chooses to strengthen its profile to increase the effectiveness of commercial relationships. The stated goal is to make decision-making processes more targeted and support business development.

“We cannot rest on our laurels regarding the development of ProWein in recent years. Our ambition is to further grow the fair steadily. For this reason, we are refining ProWein’s relevance for industry operators and decision-makers. With Frank Schindler joining our management team from October 2025, we have an industry expert leading this development with a clear vision,” says Marius Berlemann, Chief Operating Officer of Messe Düsseldorf.

NEW FORMATS AND SEGMENTS

Among the most significant innovations is ProWein Agora, a platform dedicated to market analysis and strategies. Sparkling Visions also debuts, a space dedicated to the sparkling wine sector.

Attention is growing for the No/Low segment with ProWein Zero and its Tasting Zone, while the ProSpirits area expands its scope: 500 exhibitors from 50 countries spread across two halls. On the experience front, ProWein City Vibes engaged the general public with 64 events throughout the city, connecting producers, restaurants, and enthusiasts.

LOGISTICS AND ORGANIZATION

The final day was marked by a local public transport strike. Organizers activated a shuttle service with 30 buses to ensure connections between the fair, airport, and central station. Feedback on the new hall layout, designed to reduce distances and improve the experience, was also positive.

“The new hall concept, with well-defined segments and reduced distances, was positively received by both exhibitors and visitors. At the same time, their comments provided valuable insights for further improvements, especially regarding the connection with the New World and Spain in Hall 6. Overall, the feedback confirmed we are on the right track,” comments Frank Schindler, Director of the event.

NEXT STEPS

The development process will continue in the coming months, with new updates expected by the end of May. The next edition of ProWein Düsseldorf is scheduled for March 7 to 9, 2027. Internationally, the ProWine Tokyo and ProWein Singapore stages will follow in April.
