Cantine Aperte returns throughout Tuscany on May 30 and 31, 2026. The event, promoted by Movimento Turismo del Vino Toscana, focuses on a renewed hospitality model and new wine tourism trends. The goal is to strengthen the role of wineries as organized and competitive destinations, capable of offering complete experiences related to wine and the region.

“Tuscan wineries are called to present themselves as the most high-performing and organized wine destinations in our country, offering visitors a unique and engaging experience that enhances both the quality of the wines and the authenticity of the region – explains the president of Movimento Turismo del Vino Toscana, Anastasia Mancini – and this year’s goal will be to make the event a taste of the most innovative and diverse wine tourism experiences, designed to be offered throughout the year.”

REGENERATIVE TOURISM AND NEW HOSPITALITY MODELS

The focus of the 2026 edition will be regenerative tourism. Wineries are called to rethink hospitality in an experiential way, with greater attention to nature, outdoor wellness, and connection with local culture. The pairing of wine and local products is also central.

Cantine Aperte represents an opportunity for wineries to test new formulas and diversify their offerings. Data from the CESEO – LUMSA survey, presented at Vinitaly, confirms the sector’s strength: 38.6% of wineries report stable revenue, while 59.8% report an increase in visitors. However, the need to improve accessibility remains, especially for foreign tourists, through targeted strategies.

EXPERIENCES SCHEDULED AT THE WINERIES

The calendar of activities offered by Tuscan wineries is extensive. Among the new features are vineyard visits with Etruscan culture experts, picnics among the rows with tastings, panoramic walks, trekking, hiking, and cycling wine. Themed events and entertainment are also planned.

The initiative will involve all the main regional wine regions: from Montalcino to Bolgheri, from Val d’Orcia to Montepulciano, through Cortona, Arezzo, Chianti, and Maremma. Two widespread days that will network the entire wine region of Tuscany. Programs will be available on the Movimento Turismo del Vino Toscana portal, updated to facilitate the choice of experiences and wineries.

CHARITY PREVIEW FOR MEYER

On May 23, the Anteprima Cantine Aperte for Meyer is scheduled at Valdichiana Designer Village in Foiano della Chiana. The event, now in its fourth edition, will take place from 4 PM to 8 PM and combines wine, fashion, and charity.

The initiative stems from the collaboration between Movimento Turismo del Vino Toscana and Valdichiana Designer Village, with technical participation from Ais Arezzo. Proceeds will go to the Meyer Children’s Hospital Foundation in Florence. Wineries from Umbria and Emilia-Romagna will also participate, with a program that includes shows and cooking demonstrations.

CANTINE APERTE, AN ESTABLISHED FORMAT

Born in Tuscany in 1993, Cantine Aperte is now Italy’s leading wine tourism event. Over time it has evolved into a format that goes beyond the late May event, extending to harvest time, St. Martin’s Day, and the Christmas period.
