The 58th edition of Vinitaly closes today at Veronafiere with 4,000 companies present in a sold-out exhibition center and a total of 90,000 attendees. Of these, 26% came from abroad, with operators from 135 nations, five more than in 2025. The next edition is already on the calendar: the 59th Vinitaly will be held at Veronafiere from April 11 to 14, 2027.

VINITALY 2026 RESULTS, VERONAFIERE SATISFIED

For the president of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo, the result takes on a particular significance in the current international framework. “We are satisfied because in an international context marked by complex geopolitical dynamics,” he comments, “which significantly affect the flows and mobility of operators toward major European trade fairs, the result achieved is far from a given.”

“The confirmed presence of over 1,000 top buyers from more than 70 countries, selected and hosted in collaboration with the ITA Agency, together with other profiled operators, testifies to the event’s ability to attract qualified demand and to ensure high market representativeness. The fair thus establishes itself as an infrastructure supporting the internationalization of the sector, capable of fostering high-value-added meetings, accelerating entry into foreign markets, and concretely supporting the competitiveness of Italian wine.”

“The presence of consolidated markets such as the United States, Canada, and Europe, together with areas with high development potential, including Mercosur with Brazil and India, Australia, and Africa,” Bricolo concludes, “contributes to creating an ecosystem oriented toward generating new commercial relationships and development opportunities.”

FOREIGN BUYERS, CONSOLIDATED MARKETS, AND NEW DEVELOPMENT AREAS

Among the consolidated markets present in Verona, Germany, North America with the USA and Canada, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, the Scandinavian countries, Poland, and Austria are confirmed. Veronafiere reads these numbers as a sign of continuity for the main outlets of Italian wine.

On the front of markets with the greatest potential, the top 10 indicated by the organizers includes China, Brazil, Australia, Mexico, South Korea, Thailand, the Baltic Republics, Serbia, and Singapore. Interest from Africa is also growing, with South Africa, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Angola. In Asia, Japan and Vietnam are also noted, while Ukraine appears as a newcomer, present with a delegation described as large and qualified.

VERONAFIERE FOCUSES ON AFRICA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, AND BRAZIL

For Deputy General Manager Gianni Bruno, the event confirmed its organizational resilience and the continuity of commercial relations in a complex economic phase.

“Veronafiere,” he comments, “confirms the organizational solidity of the event and the ability to guarantee continuity and quality in business relations even in a complicated economic phase. Internationalization is a strategic direction in which we will continue to invest: we are already working to develop new stages of Vinitaly in Africa, Canada, and Australia and we will double our presence in Brazil, strengthening the outpost already active with Wine South America. The level of satisfaction expressed in recent days by exhibitors and operators confirms the effectiveness of the strategic path undertaken. Vinitaly is a concrete accelerator for company positioning, capable of transforming trade fair participation into promotion and business opportunities.”

The international development plan indicated by Veronafiere therefore looks toward new stages in Africa, Canada, and Australia, in addition to strengthening the presence in Brazil.

VINITALY AND THE CITY, NOLO, XCELLENT SPIRITS, AND WINE TOURISM

On the off-site front, Vinitaly and the City recorded 50,000 tasting tokens. The project will also continue its territorial development with a new autumn stage in the Marche region, in Ancona, following the experience in Calabria.

The event schedule included nearly 100 events, including tastings and conferences, in addition to the thousands of initiatives organized at the stands by companies, regions, and consortia. Among the innovations highlighted by the organizers are the development of NoLo – Vinitaly Experience, the strengthening of Xcellent Spirits, and the consolidation of Vinitaly Tourism.

VINITALY 2026 BETWEEN THE SUPPLY CHAIN, INSTITUTIONS, AND POLITICS

Vinitaly also confirmed its role as a platform for dialogue between the supply chain and institutions, both at the national and European levels. Among the main appointments, the Wine Table is highlighted, dedicated to the topics of exports, the new CMO, production dynamics, and consumption.

On the institutional level, the event saw the participation of the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Christophe Hansen, the President of the Chamber of Deputies Lorenzo Fontana, and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in her third appearance.

Also present were the Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, the Minister of Tourism Gianmarco Mazzi, the Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli, the Minister of Infrastructure Matteo Salvini, and the President of the ITA Agency Matteo Zoppas.
