An intimate and private home in the heart of the Valdobbiadene hills, a recognized UNESCO World Heritage site. The Bortolomiol family is opening La Casa dell’Artista to visitors—formerly the site of the “Artist Residency” project—transforming it into a place to stay for tourists and wine lovers.
Located in Valdobbiadene, in the province of Treviso, the structure was originally a hosting space for international artists involved in a creative journey among the vines. Today, it becomes a hospitality offering that combines contemporary art and wine culture within the landscape of the Prosecco Superiore DOCG Hills.
THE PROJECT IN THE PARCO DELLA FILANDETTA
La Casa dell’Artista is a restored building adjacent to the Parco della Filandetta Art and Wine Farm. The Park is the result of the restoration of the smallest of the town’s four former silk mills, once places of female labor.
The project has created a cultural hub that hosts land art works, concerts, tastings, book presentations, and exhibitions. It is also the site of the company’s production process: the winemaking cellar is located here.
Within the Park lies one hectare of organic vineyard. These grapes produce the Ius Naturae Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Biologico. The area is completed by a stone amphitheater, a hornbeam gallery, the tasting room, and the Wine Shop.
A STAY AMIDST NATURE, ART, AND PROSECCO SUPERIORE
A stay at La Casa dell’Artista allows for an immersive experience between nature and wine production. Art dialogues with the landscape and the work in the vineyard, in a context that combines hospitality and storytelling of the local area.
In the project, wine production is also interpreted as an artistic practice. From the manual selection of the bunches to the definition of the winemaking times, every choice evokes the creative process. The result is a journey that intertwines study, craftsmanship, and vision. The new opening thus expands Valdobbiadene’s wine tourism offering, enhancing the link between culture, wine, and local identity in the heart of Prosecco Superiore DOCG.
