Seventy wineries will be present at the 20th edition of Granaccia & Rossi di Liguria, scheduled for Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23 in Quiliano (Sv). A record number, never reached in previous editions. The event confirms its role in promoting Ligurian red and rosé wines, with extensive involvement of local businesses and institutional partners.
The program includes, on Saturday afternoon, a conference dedicated to the theme “The great Grenache family, through its genetics and territorial expressions in Italy“, with presentations by technicians and representatives of consortia from Umbria, Tuscany, Sardinia, and Veneto. The discussion will be accompanied by tastings of wines from the regions involved.
SUNDAY’S GRAND TASTING
Sunday will be dedicated to the general public. From 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM, inside the sports hall, tasting tables for red and rosé wines from the seventy participating wineries are scheduled, forty of which will have their own booth. Dedicated spaces will also host a market of local products, presentations, and displays related to Granaccia di Quiliano.
VISITS, EXHIBITIONS, AND TERRITORY
During Saturday and Sunday afternoons, it will be possible to visit Villa Maria, a historic municipal building located a few meters from the sports hall. Inside, there is a toy exhibition and the display “Luna tra le muse“, featuring works by sculptor and ceramist Ylli Plaka. The side program includes initiatives spread between Quiliano and Valleggia: themed displays, guided tastings, and dedicated dishes at restaurants. At Vescovado di Noli (1 Michelin star), a special dinner is scheduled with pairings of red and rosé wines from wineries affiliated with Vite in Riviera.
The event is promoted by the City of Quiliano and the Vite in Riviera business network, with the participation of the Liguria Region and the Chamber of Commerce of the Ligurian Rivieras and the support of the De Mari Foundation. The initiative also enjoys the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture, Province of Savona, and Regional Wine Library of Liguria. In addition to collaboration with Agenzia in Liguria and Polisportiva Quiliano.
LIGURIA REGION ALONGSIDE THE ORGANIZERS
“Granaccia & Rossi di Liguria – states Alessandro Piana, vice president of the Liguria Region with responsibility for Agriculture – represents an essential event for our entire wine sector. A moment of exchange, promotion, and growth that for twenty years has contributed to giving visibility to our reds and rosés. As a Region, we are strongly supporting this strategic sector through targeted interventions such as the CMO Wine measure, vineyard restructuring and conversion, contributions against Flavescence dorée, and the substantial commitment dedicated to dry stone walls, with over 38 million euros overall to protect the rural landscape and the quality of our productions. The success of this event confirms the strength of our wineries, their extraordinary ability to network, and the unique identity of Ligurian grape varieties, starting with Granaccia.”
“Events of this kind – adds Enrico Lupi, president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Ligurian Rivieras – strengthen the territory, making it an inimitable setting for promotional development and enhancement of our local excellence. Food and wine represents one of the driving forces of the agricultural sector and, precisely for this reason, deserves attention, protection, and support. The wine sector, constantly growing, vibrant and now widely recognized both nationally and internationally, fully embodies the philosophy of experiential tourism.”
