It is called Espace Pro and is a free tasting area accessible only to wine industry professionals at the Salon des Vignerons Indépendants, the “parent organization” of Italy’s FIVI independent winegrowers. Samples are organized by region, color, and appellation, “to save time for industry professionals in a space conducive to tasting.” This is a model that could also be replicated in Italy at the FIVI Markets, though it is currently not under consideration by the Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers.
Inside Espace Pro, wines are accompanied by precise technical sheets. On offer is “a wide range of wines from all regions and with all environmental certifications. Naturally, only wines from independent winegrowers present at the fair.” To access Espace Pro during the Salon des Vignerons Indépendants, simply go to the fair’s reception and provide your professional business card.
THE FINAL TWO Salons des Vins des Vignerons Indépendants of 2025
A new feature that can be enjoyed during the final two markets for French independent winegrowers scheduled for 2025. These will be held in Lille and Paris. The penultimate event is at the Grand Palais in Lille from November 21 to 24, featuring 520 winegrowers from across France. The year for the Vignerons Indépendants ends in style in the French capital at Paris Porte de Versailles from December 4 to 7.
Unlike in Italy, the winegrowers’ wine markets take place on multiple dates throughout the year in key French cities. Of course, the number of French independent winegrowers far exceeds that of their Italian counterparts. Official figures cite 7,000 in France and 1,800 in Italy.
