DryMilano is gearing up for a May dedicated to contemporary mixology with three events focused on collaboration, research, and international cross-pollination. The Milanese venue is turning its bar into a space for experimentation, welcoming some of the industry’s most prominent figures from Italy and abroad.
On May 11, 19, and 27, the calendar offers a journey through different styles and cultures, featuring dedicated drink lists and high-profile guests. This project is part of the broader Milan Hospitality Week, an initiative shared by several key players in the city’s scene.
THE ITALIAN SHIFT CLOSES MILAN HOSPITALITY WEEK
On May 11, starting at 10:30 PM, DryMilano hosts the closing event of Milan Hospitality Week. “The Italian Shift” brings together eight Italian cocktail bars in a relay that showcases national talent.
Behind the bar, Jimmy Bertazzoli (Aguardiente – Marina di Ravenna), Edoardo Sandri (Atrium – Florence), Adrian Cristian (Dialogue – Brescia), Simone Covan (Fede Cocktail Lab – Turin), Martina Bonci (Gucci Giardino – Florence), Cristian Bugiada (La Punta – Rome), Dario Banchelini (Locale – Florence), and Valerio Izzo (Shub – Sorrento) will take turns.
The drink list features eight signature cocktails representing different identities: Collins #6, Atrium Highball, Japanese Garden, Unusual Bamboo, Che Fico!, Guadalupe, Peachotta, and Garibaldino. Galvanina is the partner for the evening.
GUEST FROM SEVILLE: NAKED AND FAMOUS
On May 19, the international scene takes center stage with Christian Pérez and Camila Giraldi, arriving from Naked and Famous in Seville. The Spanish venue is known for its “liquid restaurant” approach, applying haute cuisine techniques and logic to mixology.
The evening’s selection revolves around four cocktails: Naked Gimlet, La Grande Bellezza, La Dolce Vita, and Dirty Tonic (a non-alcoholic version). Ingredients include Nordés Gin, Sherry, brandy, and processes such as clarifications and saline solutions. Partners are Carlos I and Nordés Gin.
CLOSING WITH THE SHADY PIG FROM BALI
The cycle concludes on May 27 with Jonathan Jeannenot, bartender at The Shady Pig, a Bali-based venue inspired by British speakeasies. In just a few years, the bar has become a benchmark for mixology on the Indonesian island. The evening represents the final leg of a journey through different drinking cultures, with an eye toward the growing Asian scene. Partner: Galvanina.
A MONTH OF COLLABORATION FOR THE INDUSTRY
“This month we are fortunate to welcome the elite of national mixology with many friends behind the bar—excellence that bears witness to a growing sector, a segment that has become a driving force in catering and hospitality. Milan Hospitality Week was born with this spirit of collaboration, to find a context for dialogue and to create opportunities for training and growth. We are starting quietly, working at the bar, which is the best way to tell our story. And then, as has been the tradition at DryMilano for a few years now, we offer our guests the chance to experiment and try something different thanks to guests arriving from all over the world. Bringing these big names here is not something to be taken for granted, and succeeding makes us proud of the credibility we have built.” Concludes Lorenzo Sirabella, Chef Manager of DryMilano.
