The tastings of Appuntamento Soave, the elegance is white, an event organized by the Consorzio di Tutela del Soave in collaboration with the Strada del Vino Soave dedicated to the best interpretations of the iconic Italian white, bring attention back to wineries and wines that directly interpret a complex territory, marked by diverse soils and a solid tradition.

GIANNITESSARI, A BENCHMARK IN SOAVE

Giannitessari confirms its status as a benchmark in an area where Soave, Monti Lessini Durello, and Colli Berici converge. Its Scalete Cru Tenda Soave Classico DOC 2024, a blend of Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave, comes from calcareous soils and is aged in steel. The sensory profile highlights floral and white fruit notes, freshness, and gustatory continuity. Perinato Pigno 2023, 100% Garganega grown on basaltic soil, offers floral and mineral sensations with an almond finish. The wood component is well integrated.

VILLA CANESTRARI AND THE IDENTITY OF SOAVE SUPERIORE

Villa Canestrari presents the Soave Superiore DOCG Riserva 2016, 100% Garganega. Nine years of evolution are reflected in a fruity, spicy, and complex profile, with a harmonious taste and a slight hint of vanilla. Alongside production, the winery offers an educational path including a farm and a Wine Museum dedicated to winemaking history and equipment used since the late 19th century.

SARTORI, BETWEEN SPARKLING AND PASSITO

Sartori confirms the breadth of its range. Arnea, a Charmat method Garganega, offers a fine perlage, aromas of ripe apple and bread crust, and a dry, smooth taste. The Recioto di Soave 2022, on the other hand, engages with intense aromas and flavors, perfect for pairing with biscuits and dry pastries.

COFFELE, THE WEIGHT OF TERROIR

The Coffele estate operates on both calcareous and basaltic areas, which has a direct impact on the character of the wines. Ca’ Visco 2023, Garganega and Trebbiano from both soil types, expresses a fresh and complex structure. The Soave Classico 2003 confirms the evolutionary potential of Garganega with an aromatic profile that remains intact even after twenty years. Castelcerino 2023, with a screw cap, shows green and floral components, clean taste, and sapidity.

PIEROPAN, THE VALUE OF THE CALVARINO CRU

Calvarino, a vineyard on basalt and the first white wine cru in Italy (1971), reaffirms the longevity of Soave. Tasting the 2023 and 2015 vintages: the former offers immediacy and varietal consistency; the latter stands out for its aromatic intensity, balanced acidity, and persistent gustatory memory.

GINI AND THE STRENGTH OF FROSCÀ

Froscà by Gini comes from Garganega vines over ninety years old on a volcanic hill. The 2021 vintage highlights intense aromas of fresh fruit and herbaceous elements. The 2014, a difficult vintage, was nevertheless bottled with positive results: a bold color, balanced taste, and still vital after eleven years.

ROCCOLO GRASSI AND THE ALLUVIAL IMPRINT

Roccolo Grassi tells the story of the terroir with Broia, a Soave produced on alluvial soil and fermented in wood. The Garganega offers mineral components and hints of shellfish linked to its geological origin. The 2023 shows evolutionary potential; the 2016 expresses breadth and mineral intensity.

INAMA AND THE INTERPRETATION OF FOSCARINO

Foscarino by Inama, Garganega from vineyards on the basalts and lavas of the mountain of the same name, confirms its volcanic identity and expressive depth. The 2022 combines freshness, minerality, floral aromas, and an almond finish. The 2016 offers a harmonious and defined profile, suitable for many traditional pairings.
