- The event, supported by the Municipality of Sansepolcro, offers tastings, masterclasses, and gastronomic encounters.
- BEVI brings together representative wineries and celebrates wine culture between Tuscany and Umbria.
- BEVI’s goal is to establish Valtiberina as a new wine destination, combining tradition and innovation.
“My land has always had a vocation for wine production. I want to contribute to rediscovering the value of this territory.” So says Tommaso Inghirami, Tuscan producer and owner of Tenuta di Grignano in Chianti Rufina, describing his deep connection to Valtiberina, where BEVI – Borgo Eccellenze Vinicole Italiane was born.
The event, promoted by the Municipality of Sansepolcro and Mayor Fabrizio Innocenti in collaboration with wine critic and sommelier Luca Gardini, took place on October 25 and 26, 2025. Two days dedicated to wine and Italian gastronomic excellence, with tastings, masterclasses, and encounters in the Renaissance village and at the Borgo Palace Hotel. BEVI was created to celebrate great Italian wine and the territories that embody its spirit, uniting culture, tradition, and conviviality.
GREAT WINE NAMES IN SANSEPOLCRO
The first edition featured some of the most representative wineries on the national scene: Burlotto, Mascarello, Tramin, Sassicaia – Tenuta San Guido, Villa Bucci, Marisa Cuomo, Fattoria di Grignano – Chianti Rufina DOCG, Società Agricola Aliotti – Valtiberina, Podere della Civettaja – Casentino, and Baldetti Winery – Cortona DOC. BEVI aims to offer an experiential journey through the flavors and stories of Italian wine, showcasing Valtiberina as a meeting point between Tuscany and Umbria, two regions that symbolize the country’s wine culture.
INGHIRAMI’S PROJECT FOR VALTIBERINA
Convinced of the still-untapped wine potential of this valley, Tommaso Inghirami has launched a production project in Valtiberina in recent years. Two wines have already been produced: a white and a red vinified in amphora, made from native grapes from vineyards over 60 years old. A choice that reflects the desire to transfer the experience gained in Chianti Rufina to a territory rich in biodiversity and authenticity.
“BEVI was also born from the desire to give voice to and tell the story of Valtiberina,” explains Inghirami, “a territory that has all the credentials to become a new wine destination. I strongly believe in its potential: climate, soils, and agricultural culture make this valley an extraordinary place for quality viticulture.”
SANSEPOLCRO, WINE CAPITAL FOR TWO DAYS
The first edition of BEVI represents the culmination of a vision shared by Inghirami, producers, and local institutions: to make Valtiberina known not only as a land of art and culture – birthplace of Piero della Francesca and Fra’ Luca Pacioli – but also as a new hub of Tuscan wine. For two days, Sansepolcro became the capital of Italian wine, with a program combining tastings, masterclasses, and events dedicated to fine drinking and local gastronomy. With BEVI, Valtiberina embarks on a path of enhancement that looks to the future, uniting tradition, innovation, and love for the land.
