WHITES AND SPARKLING WINES ON THE RISE

The production mix of DOC Etna is changing. Etna Rosso accounts for 42.2% of production, followed by Etna Bianco at 40.3%. Etna Rosato represents 8.9%, while Etna Spumante Bianco reaches 4.4%.

The data confirm a transformation of DOC Etna that extends beyond the increase in estates and volumes. The share of white and sparkling wine production is also growing.

ETNA AND WINE TOURISM

Production evolution is accompanied by growing wine tourism interest. The 2025 Report on Italian Food and Wine Tourism, which analyzes six foreign markets including Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Austria, Switzerland, and France, indicates greater interest in food and wine experiences in Italy.

Etna appears among the most desired destinations. The destination is cited by up to 40% of French respondents. In the United States, Chianti reaches 41%. It is in this context that Radici Vulcaniche takes place, an event dedicated to Etna wines scheduled in Randazzo on August 29–30.
