Festa del Torrone 2026: Sixteen Days of Events in Cremona from November 7 to 22

IN BREVE
  • The Festa del Torrone 2026 will take place from November 7 to 22, extending from 9 to 16 days.
  • The event spans the entire month of November with activities on weekends and weekdays.
  • Iconic moments, such as the marriage between Bianca Maria Visconti and Francesco Sforza, will be confirmed alongside new experiences like tastings and workshops.
  • The extended duration will bring greater opportunities for the city of Cremona and its economic activities.
  • The event is supported by the Municipality of Cremona and the Chamber of Commerce, under the patronage of the Lombardy Region.

The Festa del Torrone is expanding and picking up the pace. The 2026 edition, the 29th to date, will take place from November 7 to 22, increasing from 9 to 16 days of programming. This choice brings the event across three consecutive weekends, marking a new phase for one of the most well-known appointments on the Italian food and wine calendar. The event is organized by SGP Grandi Eventi and confirms Cremona as the symbolic center of the nougat tradition. The temporal extension doesn’t just affect the calendar; the festival embraces the entire month of November, alternating events concentrated on weekends with weekday activities designed for a more relaxed enjoyment of the city and the program.

THE FORMAT

After years of constant growth in terms of audience and content, the Festa del Torrone is moving from two to three weekends. This evolution responds to the expansion of the offering and the event’s ability to renew itself while maintaining a close link with local tradition. Sixteen days allow for a more balanced distribution of events and greater visitor engagement.

For 2026, the widespread event approach is confirmed. Cremona becomes the stage for initiatives that develop over time, with different rhythms between weekends and weekdays. The goal is to broaden visiting opportunities and encourage longer stays in the city.

HISTORICAL EVENTS AND NEW PROPOSALS

The symbolic moments of the Festa del Torrone remain central. These include the historical reenactment of the marriage between Bianca Maria Visconti and Francesco Sforza and the grand final show—events that have defined the festival’s identity over the years.

Alongside the historical events, the 2026 edition introduces new experiences. The program includes sensory tastings, guided tours, and interactive workshops aimed at different audiences, as well as cultural meetings dedicated to the relationship between historical memory and gastronomic innovation. Each day is designed as part of a unified narrative revolving around nougat and the city.

VOICES FROM ORGANIZERS AND INSTITUTIONS

“Transforming a consolidated format into a two-week event was a significant challenge,” says Stefano Pelliciardi, organizer of SGP Grandi Eventi, “but it is also the result of a journey made of extraordinary feedback from the public, producers, and a city that has shown it believes deeply in this event. Today, the Festa del Torrone is a space for discussion, celebration, and conviviality, with an increasingly international scope.”

The temporal extension has direct impacts on the territory. “Sixteen days of the event mean more opportunities for the city, for economic activities, and for the hospitality system, as well as a more balanced and sustainable enjoyment of the event,” said Mayor Andrea Virgilio. To this, Tourism Councilor Luca Bugazzi added: “The Festa del Torrone is growing, looking to the future without losing the link with its history and the identity of Cremona.”

ECONOMIC IMPACT AND BUSINESS SUPPORT

The economic world offers a positive assessment of the event’s extension. “A choice that further strengthens the value of an event capable of enhancing one of the most representative and identifying local productions of the territory, expanding its impact in terms of tourism and economic attractiveness.” This was the comment from Giandomenico Auricchio, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cremona, Mantua, and Pavia, highlighting that “businesses in the sector recognize the temporal extension as a strategic opportunity to enhance not only their products but also the skills matured through tradition and the ability to innovate processes and production.”

Among the long-standing partners of the event is Sperlari. “We believe in the value of our bond with the local community,” said Riccardi Viani, CEO of Sperlari. “We are proud to support this initiative precisely in the year of our 190th anniversary, for an event that further reinforces the participation and sense of belonging of our community.”

Regarding the management of the program, Massimo Rivoltini, CEO of the eponymous company, also commented: “In recent years, the event has reached levels of growth once unimaginable, even in national and international contexts, generating a concrete return for the entire city of Cremona. Having more time allows for a more balanced management of the schedule, making events more accessible and allowing the involvement of a larger number of players from the commercial and media worlds.”
