Cantine Brugnano joins Assovini Sicilia. The Partinico winery, led by brothers Francesco and Giuseppe Brugnano, is now part of the association that brings together some of the island’s leading wine companies. For the two young producers, this is a step that recognizes the value of the project launched in recent years. A move that strengthens ties to the territory and places the company within a network that promotes Sicilian wine worldwide.

Assovini Sicilia was founded in 1998. Today it brings together over one hundred wineries committed to promoting their territories, native grape varieties, and production quality. The association works in promotion, export, wine tourism, and dissemination of the island’s wine culture. Among its priorities are sustainability, biodiversity, and generational transition. Goals that align with the path undertaken by Cantine Brugnano.

A WINERY RENEWED BY THE TWO BROTHERS

The estate is located in the hills of Partinico, in the province of Palermo. The vineyards are situated between 300 and 600 meters altitude. The Brugnano family has been growing grapes for generations. The new production phase stems from Francesco and Giuseppe’s initiative, who relaunched the winery after a period of pause. The restart took place in 2021, with internal reorganization, targeted investments, and a more modern structure.

The territory offers diverse soils, from calcareous and clay to sandier areas near the coast. This variability allows work on multiple styles and interpretations. Production includes whites, reds, rosés, classic method sparkling wines, and passitos, which have received recognition in the Winemag Guide.

VIVENS BIO AND NEW EXPERIMENTS

Among the most significant choices of the new management is the Vivens Bio line. These are wines without added sulfites made from Catarratto and Perricone. The grapes come from parcels cultivated with agronomic practices that respect natural balances. Experiments in the vineyard and cellar aim for concrete sustainability, sought first in the soil and then in the bottle.

Alongside the new lines remain the winery’s historic wines, including some barrel-aged reds. The company’s identity develops through research, respect for the territory, and renewal. Current production stands at approximately 250,000 bottles per year.
