From May 16 to 18, the Hofburg in Vienna will host VieVinum 2026, the leading international trade fair dedicated to Austrian wine. The event, scheduled in the heart of the capital, aims to be a meeting point for industry professionals, hospitality, trade experts, and enthusiasts, with an edition focused on the theme of diversity and wine as a connecting element.

FOCUS ON TRENDS, STYLES, AND NEW OFFERINGS

The 2026 edition promises a broad, discovery-oriented exhibition featuring origins, grape varieties, styles, and emerging trends. The organizers’ stated goal is to further strengthen the dialogue between producers and the market, also through new partnerships and collaborations already underway.

SCHOOL OF WINE AND ZONE ZERO: YOUNG WINEMAKERS AND NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

Among the planned innovations, the School of Wine program returns, connecting young producers with established wine names, including insights into alternative cultivation and winemaking methods. There will also be space for “Zone Zero,” an area dedicated to alcohol-free beverages, designed to capture evolving consumption patterns and new market demands.

MENTORING AND “BUDDIES” FOR NEW TALENT

The work of the Gerd A. Hoffmann Academy, founded in 2022, continues with a cross-mentoring project that will support selected young winemakers leading up to the fair. For the first time, some participants from previous editions will join the program as “buddies,” taking on a support and advisory role.

VIEVINUM AND EUROVISION: POTENTIAL SYNERGIES IN VIENNA

The opening day of May 16, 2026, will coincide with the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, scheduled at the Stadthalle in Vienna. The organizers of VieVinum and ESC have initiated discussions to explore potential synergies, with the aim of introducing new audiences to Austrian wine.

A HISTORIC EVENT FOR AUSTRIAN WINE

VieVinum has been active since 1998 and takes place biennially. Over the years, it has followed the evolution of Austrian viticulture, becoming a leading platform for the international promotion of the sector. The event is organized by M.A.C. Hoffmann, in collaboration with the Austrian Wine Marketing Board (AWMB).
