Nasce il Sentiero della Nosiola, verso DiVinNosiola 2026

The Nosiola Trail is Born, Towards DiVinNosiola 2026

IN BREVE
  • The new Nosiola Trail, the result of collaboration between local authorities, offers two routes: a 9 km trekking path and a 28 km MTB trail that traverse historic landscapes.
  • From March 27 to April 10, DiVinNosiola takes place, a festival celebrating Nosiola, Trentino’s native grape variety, with events, tastings, and meetings with producers.
  • Vino Santo, known as the ‘passito of passitos’, is produced from dried grapes and offers aromatic complexity thanks to the winds from the Dolomites.
  • Among the main events, the Pressing Ritual will take place on March 29, marking the transition from drying to fermentation of Vino Santo.
  • The Nosiola Trail strengthens the bond between wine, territory, and community, anticipating future editions of DiVinNosiola.

The new Nosiola Trail was born from collaboration between Garda Dolomiti spa, ATA Garda Trentino, Trentino Marketing, the winemakers of Valle dei Laghi, and the Municipalities of Cavedine, Madruzzo, and Valle Laghi. It features two loop routes, one for trekking and one for MTB. The pedestrian route measures 9 kilometers with 200 meters of elevation gain between Padergnone and Santa Massenza. It crosses historic vineyards, including the Monti di Calavino. Along the route, 13 educational and interactive stations designed by Studio X have been installed.

The panels, inspired by aréle, are made of larch and arranged to evoke grape clusters. One installation is dedicated to wind, a key element for Vino Santo. A system of mirrors offers new vantage points over the landscape. The MTB route extends for 28 kilometers with 470 meters of elevation gain. It runs on unpaved roads and is of medium difficulty. It connects all the wineries in the area, allowing stops for tastings and purchases. The estates tell the story of the families who built the Nosiola tradition, with events and experiences distributed throughout the year.

TOWARDS DIVINNOSIOLA 2026

From March 27 to April 10, DiVinNosiola returns for its sixteenth edition. The event celebrates the wine and food tradition of Valle dei Laghi, in Garda Trentino, between Lake Garda and Trento. The star is Nosiola, Trentino’s only native white grape variety. The festival features tastings, meetings with producers, guided tours, and themed treks. Wineries, institutions, and local businesses are involved.

Nosiola is considered the ‘straw yellow’ gold of Valle dei Laghi. A versatile grape variety, it gives rise to different types of wine, including macerated and sparkling wines, as well as Santa Massenza grappa. The two signature expressions remain the still white Nosiola, characterized by freshness and hazelnut notes, and Vino Santo Trentino DOC, a Slow Food Presidium.

Vino Santo is known as the “passito of passitos“. The grapes are left to dry on aréle until Holy Week, when the Pressing Ritual takes place. Drying occurs thanks to the winds from the Brenta Dolomites and the Ora del Garda. The formation of noble rot promotes sugar concentration and aromatic complexity, with notes of honey, apricot, and spices.

DIVINNOSIOLA 2026: EVENTS ON THE PROGRAM

DiVinNosiola involves all Nosiola producers in Trentino and includes a partnership with Albana di Romagna. Among the main events, the Pressing Ritual, scheduled for Sunday, March 29 at 3 PM at Cantina Pedrotti. The ritual, led by the Confraternita del Vino Trentino, marks the transition from drying to fermentation of Vino Santo. The appointment of three new confratelli is planned, along with the participation of writer and journalist Walter Nicoletti.

The same day features “Walking Among Centuries-Old Olive Trees and Nosiola Vineyards“: a 9.5-kilometer hike starting at 9 AM from Cantina Pedrotti, on Lake Cavedine. The route reaches the slopes of Monte Gaccio and includes a stop at Cantina Pisoni with a packed lunch and a complimentary glass of wine. Ticket €10, reservation required.

On Saturday, April 4, “Nosiola and Its Rituals” takes place, a loop walk starting at 2 PM from Casa Caveau in Padergnone. At 4 PM, a musical moment with the Coro della Valle dei Laghi is scheduled, followed by the aspersion ritual with drops of Nosiola.

On Monday, April 6, “Nosiola Express – The Vino Santo Train” takes center stage. From 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, departing from Sarche, the train will stop at Sarche, Santa Massenza, Lasino, Pergolese, and Cavedine.
