The summit convened by regional Councilor for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, Alessandro Beduschi, was held today at Palazzo Lombardia to assess the situation of Terre d’Oltrepò, Lombardy’s largest cooperative winery. The meeting was attended by liquidation commissioner Luigi Zingone, sole director of the Spa Giampaolo Cocconi, and regional and provincial representatives of Confcooperative. Also in attendance was Collis Veneto Wine Group, a cooperative bringing together over 2,000 members, with 6,000 hectares of vineyards and revenues exceeding 200 million euros.

“Today’s meeting is an important moment,” stated Councilor Beduschi, “because all stakeholders have put their respective positions on the table, from which emerges the possibility of reaching a synthesis in short order that guarantees a definitive solution for the company’s future.”

Collis Veneto Wine Group on Terre d’Oltrepò: LOMBARDY REGION’S POSITION

During the discussion, Beduschi reiterated that the objective is to identify an entity capable of guaranteeing stability to the cooperative’s membership base and assuming clear responsibility toward the territory. Lombardy Region has set tight deadlines to reach a shared agreement. “By the end of the month,” Beduschi added, “we will reconvene all parties, starting with trade organizations, to reach a synthesis and arrive at definitive decisions. The message must be clear: we want to be ready for the next wine-growing season, finally putting Terre d’Oltrepò and those who deliver grapes to the winery in a position to look to the future with optimism.”

CONFCOOPERATIVE: “PROGRESS FOR THE OLTREPÒ PAVESE COOPERATIVE SECTOR”

Giovanni Carrara, president of Confcooperative Milano and Navigli, expressed appreciation for the process initiated: “After today’s meeting, we await the next steps with confidence, to be carried out swiftly, as hoped by Councilor Beduschi, to whom we extend our thanks for his commitment; we also thank commissioner Zingone, director Cocconi and Collis Veneto Wine Group for the work they are carrying forward with unity of purpose, in order to guarantee continuity and a certain future for the cooperative wine sector of Oltrepò Pavese.”

COLLIS VENETO WINE GROUP: WHO IS THE COOPERATIVE INTERESTED IN TERRE D’OLTREPÒ

Collis Veneto Wine Group is a second-tier agricultural cooperative consortium established in 2008 from the integration of two historic Veneto wine cooperatives: Cantina di Colognola ai Colli and Cantine dei Colli Berici. It operates in the provinces of Verona, Vicenza and Padua and brings together approximately 2,000 wine-grower members.

It is one of Italy’s leading wine cooperatives. Members collectively cultivate approximately 6,000 hectares of vineyards in the most prestigious areas of Veneto, including Soave, Valpolicella, Colli Berici and Merlara, with production comprising DOC, IGT and varietal wines.

The group oversees the entire wine supply chain, from agronomic and oenological management to marketing. Alongside production, it operates a network of wine shops under the Cantina Veneta brand. Now an established presence in domestic and international markets, also thanks to Collis Heritage Spa, a company established in December 2023 as the industrial and commercial evolution of Collis Veneto Wine Group’s experience.

FROM SARTORI TO RIONDO, THE COLLIS HERITAGE BRANDS HEADING TO TERRE D’OLTREPÒ

Collis Heritage is the result of the merger by incorporation of two historic entities: Casa Sartori 1898, a company emblematic of Valpolicella and the great Veronese reds, and Cantine Riondo, a brand highly specialized in sparkling wines and Prosecco, with an established presence in international markets. Through this integration, the company oversees a broad portfolio of denominations and styles, with total production of approximately 40 million bottles and a commercial presence in over 70 countries.

Within Collis Heritage, several historic brands are brought together and enhanced, including Sartori di Verona, Riondo, I Saltari, Mont’Albano, Murari, Casa Burti, Falceri and Lunardi, each with its own identity and positioning. The company operates under the direction and coordination of Collis Veneto Wine Group, which represents its cooperative parent company and strategic and production reference.
