Le Tenute del Leone Alato celebrates two significant anniversaries by unveiling two wines that represent different territories and approaches, united by a shared vision of quality. The new releases are Amarone della Valpolicella Valpantena DOCG 2020 Costa Arènte, marking ten years of the Verona estate, and Duemani Venti 2020, Costa Toscana Cabernet Franc IGT, created to celebrate twenty years of the Tuscan winery. The two reds were presented at the Fondazione Riccardo Catella in Milan.
TENUTE DEL LEONE ALATO: TWO ANNIVERSARIES AND TWO PREVIEW WINES
“With these labels we celebrate two important birthdays with the launch of two preview wines: Costa Arènte, Amarone della Valpolicella Valpantena DOCG 2020 and the new Duemani Venti, Costa Toscana Cabernet Franc IGT 2020,” said Igor Boccardo, CEO of the group founded in 1851 under the name Genagricola.
“We’re celebrating doubly,” he added, “also with the publication of the photographic volume Terrae, created by French artist Jacques Pion, which features images of our four exceptional estates. In addition to Costa Arènte and Duemani, Bricco dei Guazzi in Piedmont and Torre Rosazza in Friuli Venezia Giulia.”
AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA VALPANTENA DOCG 2020 COSTA ARÈNTE
Amarone della Valpolicella Valpantena DOCG 2020 arrives at a symbolic moment for Costa Arènte, which celebrates ten years of activity in 2025. The wine is made from predominantly Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes, hand-harvested and selected for drying.
After approximately three months in the drying room, it presents a ruby-garnet color and aromas of cherry in spirit, licorice, and nutmeg. On the palate, the acidity is well-defined and supports a structure that suggests long aging potential. The Amarone reflects the estate’s identity: high-altitude viticulture, work on terraces, and a contemporary interpretation of a great Valpantena classic.
DUEMANI VENTI 2020 COSTA TOSCANA CABERNET FRANC IGT
The second wine is Duemani Venti 2020, a pure Cabernet Franc celebrating twenty years of the Tuscan estate Duemani. The signature is that of Luca D’Attoma, a winemaker who since the early 1990s has worked alongside producers committed to organic farming, when the topic was still marginal in the Italian wine landscape. The winery’s journey is founded on rigorous organic practices and a subsequent evolution toward biodynamics, understood as listening to natural rhythms and direct relationship with the soil.
The wine is vinified in cement tanks, with a combination of traditional technique and infusion, long macerations, and a small percentage of whole cluster. Aging continues for 24 months in French oak barriques from Tronçais and at least 12 months in bottle. In the glass emerges a taut and ferrous red, with silky tannins and an elegant balsamic profile, delivering energy and precision.
