From October 10 to 12, 2025, Biancavilla, in the province of Catania, will host the IV edition of the Etna Wine Forum. The event, created to showcase the wine heritage of Etna’s southwest slope, will take place at Villa delle Favare. The program features three days of tastings, masterclasses, conferences, cooking shows, and tasting stations.
THE EVENT PROGRAM
Among the guests for this edition are Michelin-starred chef Pino Cuttaia, from the restaurant “La Madia” in Licata, who will lead a cooking show, and American journalist Robert Camuto, a contributor to Wine Spectator. The latter will present his book Altrove al Sud.
The event, presented at a press conference attended by Biancavilla Mayor Antonio Bonanno and Italian Sommelier Foundation President Paolo Di Caro, features a packed schedule of meetings and tastings. On Sunday, October 12, in the courtyard of Villa delle Favare, tasting stations will showcase Sicilian wineries from the Southwest and other producers from across the country.
VOICES FROM THE TERRITORY
“The Etna Wine Forum is much more than a showcase. It’s a celebration of our identity, the passion of our producers, and the extraordinary quality that our territory can express,” declared Mayor Antonio Bonanno. “In Biancavilla,” he added, “wine reaches levels of excellence. Together with oil, prickly pears, oranges, and olives, it tells the story of authentic and sustainable agriculture. With food and wine experiences centered around wine, we offer an experience that combines taste, culture, and territory. We’re promoting a new form of experiential tourism.”
Along the same lines, Paolo Di Caro stated: “The Etna Wine Forum has now established and consolidated itself as one of the key appointments in the wine world. Biancavilla, dubbed the ‘third gateway to Etna,’ becomes an ideal stage. Here, the latest in wine production is accompanied by the story of the territory and its protagonists.”
MASTERCLASSES AND IN-DEPTH SESSIONS
The program includes moments of technical and cultural exchange. The schedule features a masterclass dedicated to wines from the Cirò and Val di Noto Consortiums. Additionally, a seminar-tasting will compare Timorasso and Carricante, led by Daniela Scrobogna and producer Walter Massa.
There will also be focus sessions on major industry topics, such as the seminar “Winemakers and Global Challenges. From Terroir to Climate Change, a Journey from North to South,” led by Daniela Scrobogna and Federico Curtaz.
