New project by one of the iconic voices of Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG. A distributed hospitality system that showcases the Iblei Mountains territory, featuring rural architecture, distinctive wines, and authentic landscapes. Two residences available, immersed in the Sicilian countryside.
A distributed hospitality system in the heart of the Iblei Mountains. Called Chaza—a Sicilian term meaning “piazza”—this is Arianna Occhipinti’s new project, a winemaker known for her artisanal and identity-driven approach to viticulture. Located in the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG area, Chaza presents itself as a meeting place between nature, wine, and landscape. The residences, distributed across contrada Santa Margherita, were created to welcome travelers seeking authenticity.
CHAZA OCCHIPINTI: AN IDENTITY BUILT ON STONE
The name recalls “La Chaza,” the ancient name of the Arco dell’Annunziata in Chiaramonte Gulfi. A direct reference to a community space, now reinterpreted in a rural context, where hospitality becomes an immersive experience in the territory. Chaza’s dwellings are built with local materials. These include white Iblei stone, ceramic, iron, and cocciopesto.
Elements that evoke the traditional architecture of the territory. The area is the same where Occhipinti began her vineyard work, starting from the contrada Fossa di Lupo. This is where SM, the Grillo, is born, bottling the identity of the place in the vision of the producer who symbolizes the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG area.
THE TWO CHAZA RESIDENCES: CASA GRANDE AND CASA DI PIETRA
Casa Grande is designed for groups of up to eight adults. It offers four double bedrooms, three bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, and living room. The centerpiece is the terrace overlooking the countryside, complemented by a private pool. Casa di Pietra accommodates up to four people. Situated within an orchard, it features two bedrooms with bathrooms, a compact and functional living area, garden, and private pool.
A STARTING POINT FOR EASTERN SICILY
Chaza also serves as a base for exploring southeastern Sicily. From the historic centers of Ragusa Ibla, Modica, and Noto, the sea at Marina di Ragusa is easily accessible. Just minutes away are the Canalazzo Park and the panoramic views of Chiaramonte Gulfi, known as the “balcony of Sicily.”
“Chaza,” explains Arianna Occhipinti, “was born from the desire to share with those who come here not just a place, but a way of life connected to the land, its rhythms, and its seasons. An opportunity to discover a territory that for me is a constant source of inspiration.” More information and reservations here.
