The Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Acqui is renewing its identity and production range. At the center is the rebranding inspired by the rose and the development of dry and rosé versions, alongside the traditional sweet style of Brachetto. The Acqui DOCG system celebrates thirty years since its recognition (1996) with consolidated figures: production nears 3 million bottles and a growing presence on foreign markets. After Italy, the United States represents about a quarter of the volumes, while Denmark and Asia are strengthening, with South Korea standing out.

REBRANDING: THE ROSE AS THE IDENTITY MARK OF BRACHETTO

The main innovation is the complete rebranding of the Consortium. The new logo introduces a stylized rose, a direct symbol of Brachetto’s aromatic profile. It is not just a graphic element, but an immediate reference to the floral notes that characterize the denomination.

The operation aims to strengthen international positioning, making the link between grape variety, territory, and style more recognizable. The reference to the rose unifies visual communication and the wine’s sensory identity.

ACQUI DOCG ROSÉ: SPARKLING AND STILL FOR CONTEMPORARY CONSUMPTION

Among the product innovations, Acqui DOCG Rosé emerges, available in both sparkling and still versions. Obtained through brief maceration on the skins, it features a powder pink color and an aromatic profile reminiscent of violet and raspberry.

The structure prioritizes freshness and sapidity, with an approach oriented towards aperitifs and informal consumption. This is one of the levers with which the denomination is expanding its audience.

ACQUI DOCG ROSSO: THE RETURN OF THE DRY STYLE

Alongside the rosé, the Consortium is relaunching Acqui DOCG Rosso, a dry version already widespread at the end of the nineteenth century. The wine recovers a historical Brachetto tradition, reinterpreted in a modern key.

The aromatic profile maintains the typical notes of rose and strawberry, while the structure is supported by soft tannins. It is positioned as a table wine, suitable for pairings with structured dishes, aged cheeses, and local specialties such as Acqui-style stockfish.

FROM SWEETNESS TO VERSATILITY: THE EVOLUTION OF THE DENOMINATION

Since 2017, the denomination has embarked on a path of stylistic expansion. The historically dominant sweet version is now joined by dry and rosé interpretations that enhance the flexibility of the Brachetto grape.

Production remains concentrated between the provinces of Alessandria and Asti, across approximately 850 hectares in the UNESCO heritage hills. The territory continues to be a key element for the development of wine tourism.

EXPORT, INTERNATIONAL POSITIONING and 2025 HARVEST

Growth in foreign markets represents a strategic axis. The United States leads international demand, while Nordic countries and Asia show expanding dynamics.

The Consortium’s goal is to consolidate its global presence through a broader offering and consistent communication, capable of enhancing the aromatic identity of Brachetto.

The 2025 harvest has guaranteed good grape quality. The Consortium looks to the coming years by focusing on stylistic diversification and greater brand recognition.
