  • Under Lia Tolaini’s leadership, the winery maintains strong focus on local grape varieties.

Pala, among the leading wine producers in Sardinia, announces a new organizational structure with the appointment of Alessandro Pedini as General Manager and Giandomenico Zedde as Commercial Director. The two appointments mark a “strategic step in the growth path” initiated after the acquisition of the Serdiana (Cagliari) estate by the Tolaini family, which took place in October 2024.

“The arrival of two professionals like Alessandro and Giandomenico, inspired by the development potential – states Lia Tolaini, who leads the winery – strengthens Pala’s connection with the territory and expresses our vision: to enhance the island’s wine heritage.”

Pedini will coordinate supply chain management and organizational strategy, with the goal of consolidating the brand’s presence in key sectors. Zedde will bring to the company his experience gained in the sales management of prominent wine estates – including Badia a Coltibuono – with particular attention to international markets.

A NEW GROWTH PHASE FOR CANTINA PALA

“We are inaugurating a new chapter in Pala’s history, relying on highly qualified collaborators who will support us in implementing projects that unite solid roots with significant development prospects. Joining the historic members of our team – such as Severino Concu, winemaker, and Amalia Dessì, from our Serdiana office – is Marco Cubeddu, our new agronomist.”

THE VINEYARD AT THE HEART OF PALA’S NEW DIRECTION IN SERDIANA

At the heart of the new management’s strategy is the vineyard. Pala aims to bring back to life six hectares of previously abandoned vineyards and to revitalize, over the next three years, another twenty hectares – including the historic Is Crabilis parcel. The initiative aims to enhance Sardinia’s native grape varieties, such as Nuragus, Monica and Bovale, and to further raise the quality level of production.

PALA BETWEEN ROOTS AND RENEWAL

Founded in Serdiana in 1950, Pala is among Sardinia’s most representative wineries. After decades of growth, in 2024 it became part of the Tolaini family, owners of the eponymous estate in Chianti Classico, in Castelnuovo Berardenga (SI).

Under the leadership of Lia Tolaini and her children Alessandro, Alicia and Matteo, the winery confirms its focus on the island’s signature grape varieties. Alongside the classic Vermentino and Cannonau, the new direction emphasizes historic varieties such as Nuragus, Monica and Bovale, in a path that, the company assures, unites preservation of local traditions with production renewal.
