Fabio Dei Micheli has been confirmed as president of the Bardolino Wine Consortium. The decision was made unanimously by the organization’s Board of Directors, which met at the Consortium’s headquarters to renew the appointments. Alongside Dei Micheli, Luca Oliosi, Davide Ronca, and Fausto Zeni were appointed vice presidents.
The Bardolino Wine Consortium has 817 members, including over 600 winegrowers. The confirmation of the presidency comes during the organization’s centenary year, having been active since 1926 in the protection and promotion of the Bardolino DOC appellation.

The new mandate comes at a delicate time for Italian wine, marked by evolving consumption patterns, market pressure, and the need to strengthen the positioning of appellations. For Bardolino, the stated priorities concern the relationship between production and demand, the tourism development of the region, and work on the production specifications.
The Consortium represents and protects the Bardolino DOC appellation, linked to the Veronese Garda territory. The main types are Bardolino, a red wine made from Corvina Veronese, and Chiaretto di Bardolino.
BARDOLINO DOC, CHIARETTO, AND CORVINA VERONESE IN THE GARDA APPELLATION
The appellation’s vineyard area covers 2,400 hectares. Of these, 1,000 hectares are dedicated to Chiaretto di Bardolino. In 2025, total production reached 21 million bottles, divided between 11 million of Bardolino and 10 million of Chiaretto.
Chiaretto di Bardolino remains the best-selling rosé in Italy. Its export share stands at 60%. The Consortium operates under the ‘erga omnes’ regime and reports a representativeness of 92%.

The Board of Directors was elected by the shareholders’ meeting on April 22. Its members include Claudia Benazzoli, Alessandro Bianchi, Chiara Brancher, Piergiuseppe Crestani, Fabio Dei Micheli, Claudio Lenotti, Luca Oliosi, Francesco Piona, Matilde Poggi, Agostino Rizzardi, Davide Ronca, Egidio Roviaro, Christian Scrinzi, Marco Zanoni, and Fausto Zeni.
The new consortium team will continue working on the recognition of the Bardolino DOC appellation, focusing on quality, the economic sustainability of the supply chain, and strengthening Chiaretto on national and international markets.
