Marche Top Wines 2026 is the name of the temporary business association established in San Benedetto del Tronto. It was born from the alliance between Consorzio Tutela Vini Piceni and Istituto Marchigiano di Tutela Vini – IMT. The agreement was signed before notary Flavia De Felice by Consorzio Tutela Vini Piceni president Simone Capecci and IMT president Michele Bernetti.
Marche Top Wines 2026 will manage a project with a total value exceeding one million euros, within the framework of international promotion policies for Marche wines. The objective is to strengthen the identity of the central Italian region in non-European Union markets. This will be achieved through coordinated action between the two main protection bodies.
THE ROLE OF MARCHE TOP WINES 2026
The association represents a unique entity for the Marche wine sector. Furthermore, it will be responsible for managing the promotional activities of the OCM wine for non-EU third countries for the 2025/26 campaign. The activities have been operational since October 16, following admission to funding provided by a specific call from the Marche Region. Finally, Consorzio Tutela Vini Piceni has been designated as the project lead.
OCM WINE 2025/26 AND MARCHE BRAND
“I consider the signing of the Marche Top Wines 2026 association a great sign of maturity – stated Consorzio Vini Piceni president Simone Capecci -. In Marche, there are, rightly, two protection Consortia for wine designations of origin. This is due to the different forms of wine-growing realities, forms of autochthonous base grape varieties, and socio-economic relationships between the north and south of the region.”
“When major projects come together – Capecci emphasizes – it is essential to remember our unique regional identity, of which we are proud. The “Marche” brand is the driving element. I thank President Bernetti for embracing the project and granting the lead role to our Consorzio and the technicians we have appointed.”
COLLABORATION BETWEEN CONSORTIA AND USE OF RESOURCES
“I hope this is a first step for other initiatives – added Istituto Marchigiano Tutela Vini IMT president Michele Bernetti -. The two Consortia already collaborate on other important projects at the EU level, such as Vinitaly, Wine Paris and Prowein in Düsseldorf. On these occasions, our Institute serves as the reference point.”
“I believe that, while maintaining our respective autonomy and identity, the two organizations can find better and more ambitious objectives through unity. This also happens through a sensible policy of resource utilization and their equitable distribution across the territory. I feel obliged to thank, in agreement with President Simone Capecci, the Marche Region. It has once again made available essential resources for our producers’ activities, also considering the impact of EU funding.”
USA AND CANADA STRATEGIC MARKETS FOR MARCHE WINE
The companies involved have identified seven non-EU markets on which to focus promotional activities. These are the United States, Canada, China, Japan, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Southeast Asia, with reference to the Indian Ocean archipelago.
Over 65% of allocated resources will be dedicated to the United States and Canada markets. These are considered priority countries for the development of Marche wine exports in the 2025/26 OCM campaign.
