MASO SETTE FONTANE
The grapes come from Maso Sette Fontane, a vineyard located at 500 meters altitude at the entrance to Valle di Cembra on soils of Dolomitic origin. An “unusual” west-facing exposure, «the vineyard looks toward Paganella and Valle dei Laghi» recalls winemaker Andrea Buccella, and it is precisely the breezes coming from Lake Garda that give the Chardonnay a distinct personality and natural elegance.
THE 2015 VINTAGE
«2015 was a year, unlike 2014 which was cold and rainy, that was generous and moderately warm and dry – comments Andrea –. The particular seasonal pattern, without significant weather events, led to a slightly early harvest and the perfectly healthy grapes allowed us to obtain musts with good balance, ideal for a sparkling wine base of great finesse»
The 2015 harvest took place in the last ten days of August. Only 50% of the must is destined for the Riserva. Tirage takes place the following summer to age the base wines on fine lees for an extended period. Disgorgement in early 2015, well over the 90 months on lees declared on the technical sheet.
