- The project aims to support the wine sector through dealcoholization technologies, with research and training activities for professionals and students.
- The project lead is Apro Formazione, with partners such as CREA and Vignaioli Piemontesi, involved in dealcoholization experimentation.
- The event will present Devin0’s objectives and activities, addressing topics such as climate change and new market demands in the wine sector.
The Vignaioli Piemontesi headquarters, at via Alba 15 in Castagnito (Cuneo), will host the official launch event of Devin0 on Tuesday, March 31 at 9:30 AM. This is an Italy–France cross-border project dedicated to innovation and training in the wine sector. The meeting represents the first public presentation of the initiative and will bring together research, training, and businesses to discuss key themes for the future of enology. These include climate change, evolving consumption patterns, and international market dynamics.
Devin0 – Wine dealcoholization down to 0 degrees – is funded by the Interreg VI-A France-Italy ALCOTRA Program with a total budget of €1,360,000 and a three-year duration.
TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING
The project was created with the aim of supporting the wine sector in the development and adoption of dealcoholization technologies. The planned activities integrate research and training, with courses aimed at both professionals and students in the sector.
The lead partner is Apro Formazione, which is also responsible for coordinating the activities and the partners involved. These include the Council for Agricultural Research and Economics Analysis (CREA), Vignaioli Piemontesi sca, and the Centre de Recherche et d’Expérimentation sur le Vin Rosé. The partners will focus specifically on experimenting with both partial and total dealcoholization applied to grape varieties.
CLIMATE CHANGE AND NEW CONSUMPTION PATTERNS
The project is part of a scenario marked by significant transformations. Climate change affects grape ripening processes and the final characteristics of wines. At the same time, new consumption models and market demands are emerging, pushing for more flexible solutions. In this context, dealcoholization down to 0 degrees is considered a potential strategic lever to expand the offering and meet emerging needs.
LAUNCH EVENT CONTENT
During the March 31 event, the objectives, activities, and prospects of Devin0 will be presented. The presentations will address the market context, changes in consumption, the climatic implications for the wine sector, and regulatory aspects.
There will also be space for dealcoholization methodologies and the experimental approaches adopted, as well as the results of research activities on Piedmontese grape varieties. Particular attention will be paid to analytical tools and potential operational impacts for businesses.
The meeting aims to be a moment of dialogue between scientific research, training, and the production world, with the goal of building a shared vision on innovation prospects in the wine sector.
