Easy-drinking, spiced and undemanding: same recipe but in a smaller format following increasingly conscious and mindful consumption trends
Quality over quantity. It’s especially younger generations showing a decreased propensity for alcohol consumption along with a greater preference for higher-quality products instead of overtly industrial ones. Thus, 32 Via dei Birrai, a craft brewery in Pederobba (Treviso) founded in 2006 by three friends, Loreno Michielin, Fabiano Toffoli and Alessandro Zilli, introduces its Curmi in half-liter bottles. A smaller bottle compared to the usual 75 cl. Curmi thus joins the other 32 Via dei Birrai beer varieties that, in recent months, have already adopted the same format, namely 3+2, Oppale and Ambita.
A BEER FOR EVERY MOMENT OF THE DAY
But why Curmi in half-liter? Many consumers, especially young people, now prefer smaller formats. Drinking less while maintaining quality. Drinking more consciously and selectively. Half a liter, however, also means multiplying potential consumption occasions, making beer acceptable at different times of the day. A format that proves much more suitable for a break, perhaps at lunch, when you don’t want to overindulge but treat yourself to an excellent meal accompaniment. Or at aperitivo hour. Or in the evening, at a pizzeria. 50 cl of beer pairs perfectly with the joy of a pizza, without weighing you down.
AN UNDEMANDING BEER
Like 3+2, Ambita and Oppale, Curmi is also an undemanding, enjoyable beer. It’s a white beer (5.8°) with a medium body, aromatic, stylistically close to Belgian “blanche” beers. Spiced with coriander and orange zest, it’s refreshing, easy-drinking, slightly tart, with delicate malt and hop notes. On the palate it reveals floral and exotic fruit hints, with a light citrus acidity and notes of straw, hay and bread crumb.
A CAREFREE BEER
Curmi in half-liter means the freedom to drink well, in a balanced way, without anxiety and knowing you’re staying within limits. It means accompanying a meal elegantly and lightly, whether meat or fish, pasta or rice. Or, between meals, it means the awareness of treating yourself to a moment of pleasure without fear of overdoing it. Curmi in half-liter is, in short, a carefree beer.
