HOFST\u00c4TTER IS THE BEST ITALIAN WINERY<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ten wines evaluated, <strong>eight Grand Gold medals and two Gold<\/strong>, with an average of <strong>96.10 points out of 100<\/strong>. These are J. Hofst\u00e4tter&#8217;s results in the Winemag Guide 2027 selections. None of the labels tasted falls below 93.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two wines reach <strong>98 points<\/strong>: the Alto Adige Doc Vigna Roccolo Barthenau Pinot Nero Riserva 2019 and the Alto Adige Doc Vigna Oberkerschbaum Sauvignon Riserva 2023. The latter also receives the award for <strong>Best Italian White Wine 2027<\/strong>. Also from Hofst\u00e4tter is the &#8220;Best Wine 2027 &#8211; Old Vintage category,&#8221; reserved for labels of at least 10 years: it is the Vigna Pirchschrait Gew\u00fcrztraminer Riserva 2016, which earns 96 points.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Cantina del Taburno<\/strong> instead receives the title of <strong>Italian Breakthrough Winery 2027<\/strong>. Among its results stand out the Aglianico del Taburno Docg Bue Apis 2019 and the Falanghina del Sannio Doc Cesco dell&#8217;Eremo 2023, both at <strong>96 points and Grand Gold<\/strong>. Of great interest is the sparkling wine project of the Benevento winery, led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winemag.it\/en\/rillo-calls-seconde-answers-cantina-del-taburno-bets-on-metodo-classico-with-champagne-enologist\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">French consultant (from Champagne) Nicolas Second\u00e9<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-37699753\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>THE BEST WINERIES OF NORTHERN, CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN ITALY<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Roberto Scubla<\/strong>, in Friuli Venezia Giulia, is the <strong>Best Northern Italy Winery 2027<\/strong>. The five wines evaluated obtain scores between 95 and 96, with an average of 95.40. The Breakthrough Winery Northern Italy award goes to <strong>Drei Don\u00e0<\/strong>, in Emilia-Romagna: ten labels, four Grand Gold and six Gold.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Roccapesta<\/strong>, in Tuscany, wins the recognition of <strong>Best Central Italy Winery 2027<\/strong>, with four Grand Gold out of five wines and an average of 95.60 points. The Morellino di Scansano Riserva Docg I Gaggioli 2024 reaches 97 and ranks among the best Italian wines overall in the Winemag Guide 2027.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Breakthrough Winery Central Italy is Valdangius<\/strong>, in Umbria. Two wines at 96 points: the Spoleto Doc Trebbiano Spoletino Campo de Pico 2025 and the Montefalco Sagrantino Docg Fortunato 2021.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the South, <strong>Masseria Felicia<\/strong> is awarded, in Campania, with an average of <strong>95 points<\/strong> across the four wines evaluated. <strong>Tenute Nicosia<\/strong>, in Sicily, is the Breakthrough Winery Southern Italy: eleven labels, four Grand Gold and a maximum of 97 points for the Etna Rosso Doc Riserva Contrada Monte Gorna Vecchie Viti 2020, another top wine of the Winemag Guide 2027. Nicosia is also a breakthrough for the project linked to the Classic Method, which is redefining the balance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winemag.it\/en\/can-etna-become-an-international-level-sparkling-wine-region\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Etna sparkling wines<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-410fca04\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>VALENTINA CUBI IS THE BEST ITALIAN ORGANIC WINERY<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The award for <strong>Best Italian Organic Winery 2027<\/strong> goes to <strong>Valentina Cubi<\/strong>. The Veneto producer obtains four Grand Gold and two Gold out of six wines, with an average of <strong>95.33 points<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside the recognition for the winery is that for the <strong>Best Italian Sweet Wine 2027<\/strong>, awarded to the <strong>Recioto della Valpolicella Docg Meliloto 2023<\/strong>, rated <strong>97 points<\/strong>. A double award that links the result of the individual label to the overall performance of the range presented at the selections.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-d8a75ff2\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>AQUILA REALE 2013 BY CESARINI SFORZA IS THE ITALIAN WINE OF THE YEAR<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a sparkling wine that wins the <strong>Italian Wine of the Year 2027<\/strong> award: the <strong>Trento Doc Aquila Reale Riserva 2013 by Cesarini Sforza<\/strong>. With <strong>98 points and Grand Gold<\/strong>, it reaches the highest score of the selections, shared with four other labels.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is yet another confirmation of how the Cembra Valley constitutes the true heart, still unknown and little told, of the Trento Doc classic method sparkling wine, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winemag.it\/trento-doc-bollicine-di-montagna-inchiesta-winemag-96-per-cento-vigneti-quota-collina\/\">not always a true &#8220;mountain bubble&#8221; by definition<\/a>. The main wine award accompanies the recognitions by category, from whites to reds, from ros\u00e9s to macerated wines, to sparkling wines, sweet wines, fortified wines and frizzante wines.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-2a5a5bf0\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>BEST WHITE, RED AND ROS\u00c9 WINES: THE WINEMAG 2027 AWARDS<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Alto Adige Doc Vigna Oberkerschbaum Sauvignon Riserva 2023 by J. Hofst\u00e4tter<\/strong> is the <strong>Best Italian White Wine 2027<\/strong>, with <strong>98 points<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same score accompanies the <strong>Best Italian Red Wine 2027<\/strong>: the <strong>Taurasi Docg Riserva La loggia del cavaliere 2017 by Tenuta Cavalier Pepe<\/strong>, in Campania.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For ros\u00e9s the recognition goes to Puglia. Guess what? The dominance of the Trentino sparkling wine appellation is consolidated thanks to another label from the Cembra Valley.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the <strong>Martinotti-Charmat Method<\/strong> the award goes to the <strong>Valdobbiadene Docg Marna del Bacio Rive di San Pietro di Barbozza Extra Brut 2025 by Andreola<\/strong>, in Veneto. The winery from Farra di Soligo (Treviso) confirms itself every year at the highest levels in the Winemag selections.
